The Balmoral Oxford traces its origins to the 19th century, named after Balmoral Castle in Scotland. Originally designed as a formal boot, it evolved into an elegant dress shoe known for its seamless division between the vamp and quarters. This structured sophistication, combined with brogue detailing, allows it to transition effortlessly between traditional and contemporary styles.
Hand lasted and handwelted.
The outsoles are fully hand stitched.
Standard E width and the wider F width are available.

Fiddleback Waist
Compared to the flat waist of the RTW collection, the Artisanal line boasts a signature fiddleback waist, which demands a longer crafting time and can only be achieved through meticulous handwork. This exquisitely narrow waistline results in a more elegant and refined silhouette.
Refined Fudging
The neat and precise fudging and hand-stitched outsole, with 12 stitches per inch (SPI), are the standard of the Artisanal line, ensuring both aesthetic appeal and durability. Every stitch is meticulously aligned with the exact placement of the fudging, reflecting the highest level of craftsmanship.

Hand-welted
Compared to the Goodyear welted construction, which attaches the welt using a glued-on rib, our skilled craftsmen use needles and thread to stitch the welt to the upper and insole. This method makes the sole more flexible and durable, requiring exceptional manual dexterity and experience.
Hand-Stitched Outsoles
Hand-stitched outsoles allow for greater flexibility compared to machine-stitched alternatives. This flexibility ensures a more natural movement of the foot, leading to increased comfort, especially during prolonged wear.
Closed Channel

I received my oxfords about 5 months ago, and the fit was a bit off as far length. Edmond who had provided 5 star service throughout my whole experience, kindly processed a complimentary remake as you get 1. Today I received that remake, and it was exceptional. The craftsmanship is insane, and the details just wow! I’m beyond pleased with these oxfords, I went with a custom dark brown museum patina, and they turned out glorious. Highly recommend, I mean HIGHLY RECOMMEND! You won’t regret it.
I was anxiously awaiting my first pair of Yearn shoes after trying TLB, CNES, and a few others I wanted to see what the fanfare was about. I went with my typical UK size but unfortunately once the shoes arrived ~ month later, they were just a bit too tight. Without knowing their customer service I was a bit distraught and messaged them. To my surprise they told me not to worry and that they would remake the pair in a half size bigger. I did have to procure my own shipping back to their US based facility but that was a small price for getting a 2nd pair with the right fit. The Chinese new year delayed the remake about a month but it was worth it. Now the shoes fit perfectly and I will be using them for all special occasions. I'm already eyeing a 2nd pair. I can't thank Yearn enough for making sure to work with me on getting the right fit and I hope they keep serving the US for many years with great products at a reasonable price tariff free.
The shoes are perfect. They are the best made pair of shoes I've ever owned. Everything from fit, material, shape is perfect.
